GMO: The benefits and limitations

I am focusing on Genetically modified organisms (GMO) for this topic
GMO benefits on:

Environment: GMO is environment friendly because they don't use so much herbicides and pesticides and they are resistant to pest, weeds and diseases and can develop well in regions with poor soil or adverse climates.

Humans: GMO can possibly remove allergy-causing properties in some foods and can also offer nutrition and flavor and because GMO is the solution to feeding growing world populations and that they are well preserved and can last long periods of time.

GMO limitations on:

Environment: GMO crops can create super weeds and pest which would be hard to control and that GMO are not guaranteed to get good results as they are unpredictable to scientist and it can also be a risk of food diversity as they are much more dominant.

Humans: GMO's Can cross polinate with non-GMO which can be a disaster to human health if they contain medicine such as vaccines, antibiotics and etc. GMO's foods can cause allergic reactions to people who have eaten GMO foods especially to livestock which can be major problem to society.

Economical: GMO crops can cause problems to third world farmers because they would have to buy expensive seeds from companies every year. GMO foods are expensive and can take a really long time for it to grow which is a waste of time and money as there is no economical value.

  1. This is good! Continue posting about the scientific technique used in making of GMOs . You may use diagrams to show this but make sure that you cite them properly using in text citations. Then relate how this solution can make an impact to the world. Choose one factor only : environmental, social or cultural? Refer to the template (link is in the latest message) that i sent to the class. HAPPY BLOGGING!
